Hello, my name is Fletcher Miglorie. This blog will focus on sustainable tourism in South Korea. Tourism is a massive industry that drives the economy of many countries. However, that prosperity can be a double-edged blade, bringing ecological destruction and dissatisfaction from the locals. I expect to find several ways in which Korea mitigates consequences from tourism, and several ways in which it fails to account for those consequences. Furthermore, I will compare the actions of both Korea and my home country (The United States) to explore what both could learn and implement from each other. Lastly, it’s important to understand that while it is exhilarating to be on a new trip, we are in someone else’s home.
